Advisory Board

Members of the MomCare Network Advisory Board are leaders who are passionate about the well-being of mothers. The Board’s role is to help establish a clear vision and mission for the organization and provide expertise and support for the organization’s activities. The Founding Advisory Board Members include these accomplished women:

Chrystle Swain, Owner, Swain Communications

Chyrstle Swain has an extensive background in television, communications, public relations and marketing. She is certified with Google Agency offering Google Virtual Tours. She has run a successful, award-winning media production services. Because of her professional, volunteer and philanthropic endeavor, Chrystle is well connected and excels at PR and media relations. She is an excellent corporate advisor with special skills in crisis management positioning, strategic marketing integration. Chrystle is a dynamic motivational speaker with the ability to rally teams around good causes. She possesses special presentation skills including video and technological aids including dynamic Power Point presentations.

Chrystle brings a high level of talent to A Day For Moms in her ability to recommend strategic marketing campaigns, advertising and public relations.

    • Led a team that produced the seven part news series, Poverty Has A Woman’s Face. The expose examined the feminization of poverty during the 1980’s. This effort produced first place honors from three national organizations: The Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, American Women in Radio and Television Award and The National Commission on Working Women Journalism Award.
  • First Place Addy Award for Public Service Announcement, Another Successful Journey, a portrait of Harriett Tubman.

Lyria Charles, Owner of Disrupt IT!, an international technology leadership company

Lyria Charles has over 30 years experience in the technology industry and has served in high level leadership roles. She is also a certified leadership coach and brings technology solutions and tested leadership strategies to the organization. Lyria has been involved with a Day For Moms since its inception and works closely with its founder on a day-to-day basis.

Veta Stratmann, Health Enthusiast, Dance Instructor, Event Planner, Artist, Personal Coach

Veta Stratmann’s name is synonymous with beauty, art and coaching. Veta has 30 years of experience in Austin and the greater Central Texas region as a dance studio owner, instructor and talent producer. She is currently affiliated with Arts Avenue Dance Studio in Georgetown where she has taught and mentored women and mothers from all walks of life.

Veta will be instrumental in helping to guide A Day For Moms in the area of conference entertainment, aesthetics and advice on providing health and self-care resources to our target audience: moms.

Susan Seay, Writer speaker and Founder, Mentor4Moms

Susan Seay is a mom of seven school-aged children. Besides her “real-life” experience as a mother, Susan comes to MomCare Network with a rich background in marketing and video production for authors. Encouraged and coaxed by admiring fans, Susan is writing her own book on intentional parenting. She is a highly-sought teacher and speaker on mothering and family topics.

Creator of Mentor4Moms, Susan has a passion for all things related to family and mom self -care. Her passion is to come along side mothers to help them as they raise and relate to their children and spouses. Working to create a “loving though imperfect” home environment, Susan takes the hands-on experience she has gained as a young mother and entrepreneur and translates them through writing, speaking and Bible studies into tools to help mothers be the best they can be in their “called and privileged” role.

Sherri Graf, President and CEO of My Personal College Coach

Sherri Graf, CEO and founder of My Personal College Coach, assists students with finding their way through the College Admissions process by providing advice, education and encouragement each step of the way. She uses her depth of knowledge as a college researcher and teacher to help both soon-to-be college students and their parents as they make the most important decisions about higher learning. She inspires students to achieve excellence in high school, college and beyond.

Sherri has a rich background in marketing, event planning and teaching with a heart for service to others. She has a heart for people, especially mothers and children. She is a mother of four and considers her role as mom—and a friend to moms—among her highest callings. She has served as a mentor both domestically and on the mission field including recent work in Haiti. Sherri’s special interests include health, education and social services as well as disaster and humanitarian relief. She is an advocate for and investor in Mission of Hope, a humanitarian relief agency serving Haiti.
